Happy Mother’s Day!

My brother and family are here for the weekend, and today we also have some relatives from Sweden visiting California. Mom asked if I’d give them a quick peek at the perfume studio and my cottage and garden, so I hope that was fun for them. I enjoyed hearing about their place in Stockholm and hope they’ll email me some photos. My grandpa had eight siblings in Sweden so we have lots of Swedish relatives.

I started the work on Ambre Noir last night to put in the new moss and labdanum; it looks quite doable. As soon as I finish a mod I want to send samples of this and Winter Woods to a few people who love the originals to be sure these seem like very close matches to their noses too.

It is a beautiful sunny day and I have fragrant bouquets of fresh cut roses, sweet peas, and pink jasmine. I’ll spend some nice family time this weekend and hope you will too! I’ve been lucky to have extra special parents that make Mother’s Day and Father’s Day meaningful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms!

  1. We had a very nice day here, thanks E! Always fun to have my brother, SIL, and nieces come for the weekend. They stay with my parents next door and then I get to visit with them too. Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! 🙂

  2. Ooh, a new formulation for Ambre Noir? I’m intrigued…I love the most recent one. I’d love to see what you come up with next.
Glad you are having time with your family from Sweden, and enjoy your garden.

  3. Hi Elizabeth! The goal for AN is to put in the new low atranol oakmoss and while I’m at it switch to the nicer new labdanum but keep the end result very much like the original.

The Swedish relatives just came by for the afternoon but that was fun! (My parents had met them before but I had not.)
