Decanting Thrills
Recently spent an evening decanting a special bottle of rose into a number of smaller bottles to split with some other perfumers. When a bottle is so expensive I feel a little nervous funneling it into the Boston rounds. I don’t want to waste a single drop. Sharing a few of the highest priced ingredients with other indie perfumers helps us all acquire a wider selection of materials than we could afford on our own while still meeting the minimum purchase requirements. I love this rose – wonderful stuff!
Hi Laurie,
A rose incense fragrance sounds wonderful! I love the new blog, and I will check it regularly.
Hi Kathy, thanks! I’ll post on the rose incense soon. I’ve been working on it for a couple of months now. Rose is really special to me, and I’ve wanted to do this type of scent for a long time. Good to see you! 🙂
I love your site because it’s so informative, and the blog will be even better! Roses are my favorite (start blooming around my birthday, for one thing), so I’m really looking forward to trying this one.
Hi Paula, glad you like the blog idea. The start of rose blooming season is a great birthday association for you. 🙂 Just tried to change my posting name to Laurie. Will see if it works. Still figuring out this blog!
Hmmm….how about rose, sueded leather, and a hint of sandalwood?
Hi Cheri! Rose, leather, and woods — sounds good!
