Peaceful Shady Garden Corner

Here’s a shady corner in my garden where the Japanese maples are happy under the oak trees.  The heuchera and geranium Biokovo bloom together, followed by foxglove and other geraniums.  The hostas are just coming out.  Lady ferns and Western sword ferns offer pretty green foliage too.  The viburnum is blooming for the first time since it was planted two years ago.  This variety, Mariesii, develops beautiful tiered horizontal branches but isn’t fragrant.  Burkwoodi is a wonderfully fragrant viburnum, but its growth habit is not as graceful as Mariesii.

Working on blending today.  So much to do.  Will post more tomorrow and will do another little sample give-away.
